Decryptifying exams in CORONA times

COVID – 19 pandemic is causing a lot of disturbance in every one’s life. Students are not immune to it & are facing lot of difficulties in studies and preparation for exams. Alumni association of NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital (NKPSIMS & RC and LMH), Nagpur conducted an online webinar “Decryptifying exams in CORONA times” on 15.05.2021 to guide under- graduate and post-graduate medical students for preparing university exam, NEET PG entrance, superspeciality NEET and PLAB exams. Dr. Supriya Gulchandani  (1991 batch Alumni) guided students for preparation of PLAB exams. She is a Urogynaecologist practicing in the United Kingdom. Dr. Shraddha Iyer (2017 PG Alumni), currently persuing MUHS Fellowship in Cytopathology at NCI, Nagpur, guided students for post-graduate and Superspeciality NEET exam. Dr. Avantika Thombre (2015 batch), a recipient of 3

academic University Gold medals, shared her experience of P.G. NEET exam preparation. Dr. Aditi Modak, presently an Intern at NKPSIMS & RC and LMH, guided undergraduate students for MUHS University MBBS exam preparation. Students preparing for Under Graduate exam and Post Graduate Entrance preparation benefited from this webinar.

The challenges of online examinations in the medical field were discussed at length. The speakers also motivated the students regarding the mental stress that students are undergoing because of the repeated postponement of examinations. Dean, Dr Kajal Mitra advised the students to prepare for case scenarios for the viva voce examination in case the practicals are also held online. Dr. Mohana Majumdar Director General Administration and Dr. Sushrut Fulare, Associate Professor of General Surgery were the organizers.
