Central Library

The Central Library provides excellent library facilities for all the students and faculty members, such as sufficient books & Journals as per NMC Requirement, proper seating and reading facility, proper classification and arrangement of books, an attractive fully air-conditioned modern Library building with high-speed wi-fi connectivity and Web browser facilities.

Open Access System is followed. In addition to the well-stocked Central Library. Each department has its Library to facilitate easy access to the Faculty, Students and Research Scholars.

The Library is subscribing ‘DELNET’, and ‘MEDLINE ULTIMATE’ database, 2594 E-journals, and 3000 above e-books are available. The Library is ‘automated’ with a management software named ‘Synchronik’.

The grand inauguration took place on 22/02/2021 at the hands of Hon`ble chairman Shri Ranjitbabu Deshmukh and in the presence of working chairman Dr. Ashish  Deshmukh, Shri Bhausaheb Bhoge-Founder Secretary VSPM ,Ex. Dean Dr. Gopal Dubey, Dr  Kajal Mitra-Dean NKPSIMS & RC and LMH , Dr. V. Thombare-Vice Dean  and other dignitaries

ABOUT LIBRARY

  1. The Central Library of NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre is an integral part of the institution’s academic and research infrastructure. The library provides comprehensive information resources and services to support teaching, learning, research, and professional development of students, faculty members, and researchers.

  2. The library is housed in a modern, fully air-conditioned building with a spacious and comfortable reading environment. It offers high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity, internet-enabled computer facilities, and an Open Access System that enables users to access information resources efficiently.

  3. The library collection is developed and maintained in accordance with the norms and guidelines prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC). In addition to the Central Library, each academic department maintains a departmental library to facilitate easy access to subject-specific resources for faculty members, students, and research scholars.

  4. The library is fully automated using Synchronik Integrated Library Management Software (ILMS), supporting acquisition, cataloguing, circulation, serial control, OPAC, and other library operations. RFID technology is implemented to enhance circulation management, stock verification, and library security.

  5. The library subscribes to DELNET and MEDLINE Ultimate databases, providing access to a vast collection of scholarly journals, e-books, dissertations, theses, and other academic resources. Remote Access facilities enable authorized users to access subscribed electronic resources beyond the library premises.

To provide excellent information resources, deliver quality services and facilities to meet the research, teaching and learning needs of the teaching learning community of NKPSIMS.

WORKING HOURS

  • Library time is to open 9.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9.00 to 5.00 pm stack room, Holiday 11.00 to 5.00pm.
  • OUTER Reading Room 24 hours
  • Circulation is available in all days.

  • To maintain the standard and reputation of the College through excellence in library services.
  • To meet the requirements of academic needs of UG / PG students and research Scholars of the Institution.
  • To provide an appropriate and comfortable ambiance for the Library Users.
  • Utilize library and information technology innovatively and appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain effective and efficient infrastructure to deliver information services. Support and enhance teaching and learning.
