CME on “Coronary Artery Disease”
On the occasion of ‘World Heart Day’ (29th Sept. 2021), Department of General Medicine conducted a short CME on Coronary Heart Disease. Programme was inaugurated by Hon’ble Dean, Dr. Kajal Mitra Sir.
In view of the theme of World Heart Day this year – “Use Heart to Connect”- the CME was based on topic of “Coronary Artery Disease” (CAD) Eminent speakers in the field of Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery were part of CME. Topics covered were “Coronary Artery Disease in Women” by Dr. Anil Modak. He described atypical presentations of Myocardial infarction in women and how to suspect them. Recent Advances in Management of CAD was elaborated by Dr. Aziz Khan, Interventional Cardiologist. He spoke in detail about pharmacoinvasive therapy in CAD Dr. Sachin Kuthe, Cardiothoracic Surgeon spoke on the surgical Management of CAD. He succinctly described surgical indications for coronary artery Bypass Grafting and illustrated operative techniques in an interesting manner. Incidentally, Dr. Sachin Kuthe is also an Undergraduate Alumnus of our own Institute of 1994 MBBS batch. The CME Programme was very well attended by 51 delegates. Senior faculties from ENT, Anaesthesia, Pathology, Gynaecology, Surgery, Respiratory Medicine were also among the angust audience.
