Psychiatry Department, NKPSIMS & RC and LMH, Nagpur held the CME on “Psychiatrist as a Therapist” on 13/11/2022 for the alumni of the department.

The function was inaugurated by Dr. Ashish Deshmukh, Working Chairman of VSPM AHE Nagpur along with the guest of Honour Dr. Kajal Mitra, Dean NKPSIMS & RC and LMH, Nagpur

The CME started with introduction on psychotherapy by Dr. Sonna Kakar, a Trained Psychotherapist practicing at Hyderabad. Dr. Sukhada
Abhiram, a Trained Psychotherapist from Albert Ellis institute conducted detailed session on REBT using role plays.

The lectures were followed by a panel discussion. Dr. Sudhir Bhave, Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry, Dr. Vivek Kirpekar Professor & Head, Dept. of Psychiatry, Dr. Sonaa Kakar & Dr. Sukhada Abhiram were the panelists. The panel was conducted by Dr. Abhijeet Faye, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry.

The CME ended with a vote of thanks given by Dr. Rahul Tadke, Asso. Professor, Dept of Psychiatry. The programme was huge success with the constant support & efforts of the students, NKPSIMS alumni and the non teaching staff under the guidance of Dr. Sushil Gawande, Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry.
