Department of General Medicine conducted CME on “HIV UPDATE 2021” on 10^th December 2021 in Inspire MET Hall, NKPSIMS & LMH from 12.30pm to 4pm.
The CME was inaugurated by Honorable Dean, Dr. Kajal Mitra sir various eminent specialists from the field of infectious disease & HIV Medicine were the guest speakers.
Dr. Nitin Shinde spoke about “Recent Advances in the Management of HIV 2021”. He explained the recent updates in treatment. Dr. Milind Bhrushundi spoke about the “Role of HAART in Prevention of HIV”. He elaborated on Pre – exposure & Post-exposure prophylaxis & perinatal management of HIV. Dr. Ashwini Tayade spoke about “Neurological Opportunistic Infections in HIV”. She held a case- based discussion with illustrative & interesting cases. Dr. Anil Sontakke spoke about “HIV and confection with Tuberculosis. He explained in detail about approach to management of such cases.
The CME was attended by 80 participants from various departments like Pulm. Med, Microbiology, Skin & VD, Pharmacology, FMT and it ended with vote of thanks in the end. Certificates were distributed to all the attendees.PG students were benefitted from the CME. Also it will useful for planning of the ART Centre which is planned in our Institute.
