Department of Anatomy Report of World Anatomy Day 2022 (Rangoli Competition)
On the occasion of World Anatomy Day 2022, Department of Anatomy, NKP SIMS & RC and LMH, Nagpur organized Anatomical Rangoli Competition in tribute to great anatomist Andreas Vesalius, founder of modern anatomy (1514 – 1564) on 15 th October 2022.
Twenty groups of 1 st MBBS students participated enthusiastically and displayed their outstanding creativity by making rangolis on various topics from Anatomy (Gross, Histology and Embryology).
Eminent Anatomist Dr. S. Pathak and Dr. J. Deshpande were judges. They were over whelmed to see anatomical diagrams in the form of rangoli. The purpose of organising this competition was to impart the importance of diagrams in teaching learning anatomy.
Dr. Shital Maske was the MOC for prize distribution ceremony Dr. D. Onkar explained the purpose of organising this innovative competition and emphasized on role of diagrams in anatomy. Dr. Purvi Mishra announced the winners. Team number 12 who made female reproductive system was the winners. Team number 4 drew Midbrain & Team number 8 drew Kidney stood 2 nd Team number 15 made cavernous sinus, team number 14 made femoral triangles were 3 rd . Two Consolation prizes were announced to Team 19 for Histology Liver and Team 13 for Intrauterine fetus.
During the competition extraordinary talent was showcased by Joshma Joseph (1 st MBBS student) who made beautiful sketch of Andreas Vesalius. Dr. Dehankar proposed vote of thanks.
