Ophthalmological Society, Nagpur along with NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre and LataMangeshkar Hospital organized a CME on Glaucoma on 14th November, 21. Glaucoma is known as the silent killer of vision as it is very commonly detected only in advanced or end stages when the patient has lost peripheral vision and only the small central vision remains, which is termed as tunnel vision. Dr. Ajay Khopade, Vice President, R&D Sun Pharmaceuticals described the mechanisms of newer drugs for Glaucoma. Dr. Ganesh V Raman, HOD Glaucoma department, Aravind eye hospitals, Coimbatore shared his vast experience in the surgical options for Glaucoma with the help of elaborate surgical videos which was hugely appreciated by all the delegates, especially the Post- graduate students.
The CME included an interesting format in the form of debates on case scenarios like, Primary Open Angle Glaucoma with early cataract – Trab. Vs Combined PhacoTrab and other such topics by renowned glaucoma specialists of Nagpur vizDr Abhishek Deole, DrShilpa Tiwari, DrGunjan Deshpande, DrAshutoshJaiswal, DrRicha Gupta and Dr Amar Bhaskare.
