Department of Community Medicine- Activities in May 2021

Internship Orientation Programme 2021

Internship orientation programme for 2016 ABCD batch was organised by the department of community Medicine from 3.5.21 to 7.5.21. Due to Covid pandemic an online programme was conducted. Various sessions were delivered by the expert faculties from the institute. Sessions included were Universal safety precautions and hospital waste management, microbiological investigations, CPR, rational use of drugs, essential obstetric care, poly trauma, ethical and medico legal issues, organ donation, IYCF, epidemiology of Covid etc. 

Rules and regulations regarding internship were explained by Dr. Meenal Kulkarni (Internship Incharge) and Dr. Ajeet Saoji (Prof and HOD Community Medicine dept). All faculties from Community Medicine dept worked hard to  make the programme successful. The programme was attended by 138 interns.

Syndicate Seminar - Post Covid-19 Complications

Department of Community Medicine has conducted a syndicate seminar on “Post COVID 19 Complication” on 14/05/2021. Seminar was presented by interns posted in the department in presence of all teaching faculty. Sub topics of seminar were presented as follows.

  1. Introduction on Covid 19 – Ketan Dekate
  2. Post Covid Complication – Mohini Jadhav
  3. Preventive and Control measures – Amit Yerne. 

Felicitation of Department for Covid work

On occasion of 75th Birthday of Hon’ble Chairman Shri Ranjitbabu Deshmukh, all the corona warriors from vidharbha region were felicitated. Department of Community Medicine received Corona warrior award. Dr. Ajeet Saoji, Prof. and Head had received the award on behalf of the department. Department of Community Medicine is involved in provision of isolation certificate, vaccination and administration of DCHC since COVID 19 pandemic. Work of department was highly appreciated by all the dignitaries. 

Blood Donation Camp at RHTC, Katol

On occasion of 75th Birthday of Hon’ble Chairman Shri Ranjitbabu Deshmukh, blood donation camp was conducted at RHTC, Katol under the able guidance of Dr. Ajeet Saoji Prof. & Head and Dr. A.R. Deoke Prof, Dept. of Community Medicine Since Covid 19 pandemic, there is shortage of blood units all over Maharashtra. Keeping this in view, total 54 blood donors were present. Blood Donation camp was conducted in presence of Dr. Kishore dhobale, Medical officer, Dr. Bhavana Javade, Dr. Rupal Darak and Dr. Mrunal khobragade.
